Book: (Not that You Asked): Rants, Exploits, and Obsessions by Steve Almond
About: Almond, the author of Candyfreak (one of the best books I've ever read; I review it here) gives us a collection of essays on topics ranging from politics to Lobster Pad Thai.
Pros: Laugh out loud hilarious. Very well written. The essays about his daughter are both funny and touching while his letters to Oprah are a perfect start to set his comical tone.
Cons: The essay about his descent into the political maelstrom seems out of place in this mostly lighthearted book. Almond can also come across as smug, which can put off some folks
