Book review: Dewey: The Small-Town Library Cat Who Touched the World by Vicki Myron and Bret Witter

Book
: Dewey: The Small-Town Library Cat Who Touched the World by Vicki Myron and Bret
Witter

About: The tale of Dewey Readmore Books, a cat who was found in the book drop of the library in Spencer, Iowa, which became his home for 19 years.

Pros: I was expecting sappy pablum, but found this book pretty cute and adorable, plenty of "awww" moments. Nice sense of place in terms of presenting small-town Iowa.

Cons: Could have been much shorter as it has a bit much of the author's/librarian's biography and history of Spencer, with little mention of the kitty. So much anthropomorphism it isn't funny.

Grade: B
