If you are allergic to cats, you are also allergic to lions and tigers

I asked the following question via the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America Ask The Allergist page:

If a person is allergic to cats, would they be allergic to lions and tigers too?

And got this answer:

Yes. Individuals who are allergic to cats react against a protein found in cat saliva called Fel d1. Fel d1 is also found in the saliva and sebaceous glands of other species of cat including lions and tigers.
